EMILY
THORNTON
Emily Thornton is keeping herself busy with three projects at the moment.
Firstly the rock musical, RENT, with Bradford Youth Players, which is based on the tragic
opera La Boheme. She is very excited to be returning to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with
Paper Zoo this year. They will be performing a devised piece, 2020Vision. She has also
recently been cast in The Mob for Jesus Christ Superstar with Halifax Amateur Operatic
Society.
Emily has been an associate actor for Paper Zoo since early 2008 and has enjoyed every
minute of it!
After discovering a love for drama lessons at school, Emily decided she wanted more. She
began 'treading the boards' in 2004 with the Bradford Youth Players and has never looked
back! Since then, she has worked with several different societies including Halifax Amateur
Operatic Society, Snow Goose Theatre Company and even set up her own company, Two
Little Birds in 2009.
In 2008 she completed a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at Bradford College
performing in such plays as Ashgirl and Fen. Emily was presented with Most Improved
Student award and Best Acting Performance in her final year.
Emily has played a variety of characters from ensemble to lead roles. Her favourite so far
has to be Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors because she is such a fun character!
