BEN EAGLE
Being an original co-founder of Paper Zoo, Ben is kept pretty busy. As well as an actor,
Ben is the company designer (or tries to be!). Ben is responsible for the design of
posters, programmes and this website.
He enjoys acting and has been treading-the-boards since 2001, not counting his turn
on the stage as Gavroche from Les Miserables at a wedding at the age of 9!
Ben has been a member of various companies including the Northern Academy of
Performing Arts (N.A.P.A.), Bradford Youth Players, The Bradford Catholic Players,
Actors Community Theatre (A.C.T.), Snowgoose and Encore!.
Ben's personal highlights as an actor with Paper Zoo have been the portrayals of Pozzo
in Samuel Beckett's Waiting For Godot; the perfect companion for Christmas -
Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and the stubborn, self
important bachelor Benedick in Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. Ben's
favourite roles thus far are Orwell's villains - Napoleon in Animal Farm and O'Brien in
1984.
In his spare time, when not rehearsing(!), Ben enjoys visiting Film Festivals, eating
chips, watching as many films as he can and visiting the theatre.
His heroes are: Sean Connery (for simply being Sean Connery), Ian McKellen, Kenneth
Branagh, Jonathan Pryce, Alfred Hitchcock and William Shakespeare (to name but a
few!).
